While the place looks pretty... well, pretty, I opted out of taking the Hahjima position, mostly for my sanity. I can't imagine spending a year on an island that small and infinitely far from everything else in the world would be very much fun after a month or so. So now I'm slated to head to Tokyo, tentatively arriving on the 11th of next month, where I will wait for X amount of time for a placement in a "normal, mainland" city (that's what they said).
I just got my Certificate of Eligibility in the mail, so I should be coming to NYC sometime pretty soon, too, to get my work visa.
