Fucking Pens finally show the Caps they can play a mean game of hockey. About goddamn time.
Also, to all my friends out there, quit trying to kill yourselves. I've had a (now ex) girlfriend and 2 friends (one twice now, counting last night) try to do it to it in the last... 3 months? Its getting pretty old, so quit it.

Even better than Ovechkin even though they are difficult to compare because of their different styles. But fuck him the guy is such a doucher. Oh man, did you see Ovechkin use his body as a missile on that 3rd period hit. Dude is crazy. Good thing that penguin defender saw it at the last second otherwise it would have been lights out. Malkin looks like an ogre but he's nasty.

Anyway, unfortunately I agree with wilby - I'd love for pburg to take home the super bowl AND the Stanley cup, bit realistically I think it's gonna be the caps and Anaheim, with Anaheim taking it. So long as that fuck Hossa doesnt get shit, I'll be relatively happy.

The Caps basically have two players on their team Ovechkin and their goalie Varlamov. You don't let a team shoot 40+ shots on you if you have any kinds of defense. And Ovechkin is averaging 2 goals a game in this series. Either one of these guys has an off game more than once or twice and it is over for the Caps.

ReplyDeleteI hate to admit it, but Varlamov is a beast. In comparison, Fleury is a little school girl, especially recently with his recently contracted blindness. Game 2? What the fuck?. Here's to the Pens getting lucky.
ReplyDeleteOh, and as far as the pens go, I love Crosby but I feel like Malkin is the man to talk about. He's leading in points (at 116(!), is way more aggressive than Crosby, makes more unexpected plays than Crosby, and is apparently a wizard. If he were a defenseman, I'd put him on the same level as

ReplyDeleteNick, I don't think the capitals have much depth. Yes when their first line is on the ice there isn't much a team can do but bunker down because of all the insane firepower they pack, but they don't go that deep. To me, it is their biggest weakness. Varlamov is really good, but so is Fleury. Varlamov is playing better though definitely. Malkin is the the awesomest for sure. He can single handedly cause a defense to breakdown. Finally, I don't think Kasparitis is on the same level as Malkin, but I've heard some great stories about him from a sports writer I know who used to hang out with him!

ReplyDeleteWow. I just looked at the pictures of Splinter's wedding. Are you sure he got married? I mean, it sounds kind of absolute, but maybe it was a role-playing thing... I'm not really sure how far I should go with this, considering its a wedding and all.
