So otter/video camera: totally cool.
Chimpanzee/acting like a human/seriously hurting other humans: also pretty cool.

  1. Thanks for the article Jonah, I've been following this story pretty closely but I missed this one. So bizarre isn't it? I feel awful for this woman who got attacked--I hope doctors can really help her even though her life is never going to be the same. Its easy to blame the owner for negligence or not taking the right precautions or misunderstanding the fact that a chimp is an animal, but that psychological assessment helps explain how this could happen. I don't think its an excuse, but its certainly an explanation.

What did think about the post's cartoon last Monday?

  2. The part of this story that struck me was the extent to which this chimps has human attributes in its relationship to food, manner, entertainment (he rooted for the Yankees before switching to the Mets). Great article in the Times week in review...I didn't read so much about the actual attack. The article was about society's connection with chimps+neanderthals in fiction and real life...the really scary part must have been Travis' odd decline into aggressive behavior. Yeah, imagine being that woman in a house all alone with a being you love and trust but can't communicate with when it becomes irrational.

I didn't see the post last monday. what was it?

  3. The cops shooting the chimp saying "I guess we'll need to find someone else to write the next stimulus bill." The one that everyone (Al Sharpton) is flipping out about saying its racist.
